In 2007, we went on vacation to Hungary. Our goal was to travel around the country and visit different areas, such as Lake Tisza, Lake Balaton, and others. One of the first villages we passed through was Ároktő, and we immediately fell in love with a picturesque house there.
Ároktő is a small, peaceful village on the banks of the Tisza River, surrounded by nature and far away from the rush of city life. The quiet streets, the friendly atmosphere, and the closeness to the river made us feel at home right away.
As a big family with five children, it was the ideal place to spend our summer holiday. There is plenty of space, fresh air, and freedom for the children to play, while we enjoyed the calm and simplicity of village life. It is a beautiful location next to the Tisza River, in a small and quiet village where time seemed to slow down.
A few years later, we had the opportunity to buy the house next to ours, and that is when the idea was born to turn it into a holiday home for guests to rent. We wanted to share our love for Ároktő and offer others the chance to experience the same peace, nature, and simple village life that had meant so much to us.
